Terms of Service

2. Scope

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of the Readden web application and browser extension (collectively, "the Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

These Terms apply to all users regardless of location. Additional rights may apply to EU consumers under applicable consumer protection law; those rights are not limited by these Terms.

Readden is a read-later service that lets you save articles from the web, read them in a clean format, and receive periodic digest emails. The Service includes:

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account. By creating an account, you confirm that you meet this requirement.

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately at hello@readden.app if you suspect unauthorised access.

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

5. Subscriptions and billing

Readden offers a free tier and paid subscription plans. Paid subscriptions are billed through Polar.sh, which acts as Merchant of Record. Polar.sh handles payment processing, invoicing, and EU VAT compliance. Your payment data is subject to Polar.sh's privacy policy and terms — we do not see or store your payment card details.

Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period. You can cancel at any time via your account settings; access to paid features continues until the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial periods unless required by applicable law.

We reserve the right to change subscription prices with 30 days' notice. Price changes do not affect ongoing billing periods.

You may not use the Service to:

The Service is intended for personal, non-commercial use. Use in bulk scraping pipelines or commercial article redistribution is not permitted without a separate written agreement.

7. Your content

You retain ownership of the articles you save. By saving content to Readden, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and display that content solely to provide the Service to you. We do not sell your saved articles or use them to train AI models.

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of saved content complies with the copyright terms of the original publisher.

8. Our intellectual property

The Readden name, logo, web application, and browser extension are the intellectual property of mediapuls. Nothing in these Terms grants you a licence to use our trademarks or to reproduce the application code.

9. Availability and changes

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service with reasonable notice.

If we discontinue the Service, we will give at least 30 days' notice and provide a mechanism for you to export your saved articles.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We are not responsible for the content of third-party websites whose articles you save.

11. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, mediapuls shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data or loss of profits, arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability to you in any calendar year shall not exceed the amount you paid to us for the Service in that year.

12. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by Swiss law (excluding conflict-of-law rules). The courts of Winterthur, Switzerland have exclusive jurisdiction for disputes arising from these Terms, except where mandatory consumer protection law in your country of residence requires otherwise.

EU consumers may also refer disputes to their local consumer dispute resolution body or use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr .

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you by e-mail at least 14 days before material changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
